Leith Engine Yard

The Engine Yard is an ongoing project in the Leith area of Edinburgh. The project is a complex of four blocks of flats (Three blocks have been completed) on a district heating system. I worked there for almost 2 years and fitted most of the major pipework on the contract. I have now moved on to another contract working on a self employed basis. Before leaving, myself and my fitters mate were fitting the heating pipework for the last block.

What I've Fitted

  • 3 New Boilers
  • 4 Pumps In The Boilerhouse
  • all the mains pipework runs from the boilerhouse to the risers
  • the riser pipework (Screwed Steel Heating and Crimped Domestic Copper)

  • Communal Area Pipework to feed each flat
  • The HIU's (Heat Interface Units) for Each flat
